The Global ATM Alliance is a joint venture of several major international banks that allows customers of the banks to use their Automated teller machine card or debit card at another bank within the Global ATM Alliance with no fees when travelling internationally. Participating banks cover Australasia, Europe, Asia and North America.

Participating banks are:

• Westpac (Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands)
• Westpac Banking Corporation (Australia, Fiji, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu)
• Westpac New Zealand Limited (New Zealand)
• Westpac Bank - PNG - Limited (Papua New Guinea)
• Westpac Bank Samoa Limited (Samoa)
• Westpac Bank of Tonga (Tonga)
• Deutsche Bank (Germany, Poland, Spain and Italy)
• Scotiabank (Canada, Caribbean, Chile and Mexico)
• Barclays (United Kingdom, Spain and Africa) (Barclays South Africa not included)
• Bank of America (United States)
• BNP Paribas (France)

Avoiding Fees Bank of America indicates that an ATM can be used at participating banks only within corresponding countries with no fees . For example use of Deutsche Bank ATMs in Germany is fee free, but a fee is charged at Deutsche Bank ATMs in Italy. As of September of 2007, a fee is charged for Deutsche Bank ATMs in Italy, but not Spain. Unfortunately, the BNL (Banca Nazionale del Lavoro) in Italy and the TEB (Turk Ekonomi Bankasi) in Turkey which both prominently display the BNP Paribas logo also charge fees.
